The molecular structure of traditional corn starch determines the water content of the glue. When the moisture content is less than 65%, the starch will not be gelatinized and no viscosity will be produced. However, if the amount of glue is small, it cannot be bonded. When the amount of water absorbed by the paper exceeds 20% of the total amount of water in the glue within 20 seconds, the water content in the glue is too small to gelatinize with the starch, and therefore it cannot be bonded. And the moisture evaporated after gelatinization heats down the paper strength. The original compounding method causes the moisture in the glue during the dehydration process to directly generate steam and be absorbed by the paper and then evaporate. In the process of absorption and evaporation, the paper is deformed (deformed and shortened), so that the strength is reduced, and the surface paper and the liner paper are blurred, which affects the appearance and printing. Evaporation of water vapor can cause differences in paper tension at different humidity levels. The compounding cost of the high-speed line is higher because the paper is not preheated and the starch is difficult to gelatinize in a short time. Therefore, in order for the paper to warm up quickly in a short period of time, the supply temperature must be increased, resulting in an increase in cost. Second, the gelatinization rate of starch is determined by the temperature. With high temperatures, the speed can be increased accordingly; at low temperatures, the speed must be reduced. The moisture content of 65% to 85% in the glue must be heated and dried, which also increases the cost. Third, the traditional corrugated board production line has high temperature load and the machine wears. The high temperature causes the metal to expand. Different materials have different coefficients of expansion, so the load increases and the motor consumes more energy. And as the temperature of the machine increases, the wear increases, the service life shortens, and the use cost increases. Fourth, the production line supporting the boiler to burn coal produces carbon dioxide and dust, destroying and polluting the environment. Zhu Qingdong said that the plant has developed a new generation of polymer glue for the cold set corrugated paperboard production line. It can use 10 grams of glue to bond the corrugated paper (single machine), and can use 25 grams of glue to compound the face paper. This not only reduces the cost of plastic, but also reduces the evaporation of moisture, the paper is not easily deformed, the maximum height and shape are maintained, and significant blemishes are not achieved. Zhu Qingdong introduced that because of the cold-setting and cold-combination of the machine, the whole machine's operating load is low, saving more than half of the energy of conventional equipment. Machines working at room temperature have little mechanical wear and can extend their service life by a factor of three.
