New PP grade required to reach the packaging container sheet

Basel Polyolefins Co., Ltd. introduced a new grade of impact polypropylene copolymer Clyrell RC 514L. Allegedly, the new grade was prepared using the Catalloy polymerization process and features a high degree of transparency and a wide processing temperature range to achieve the required hardness of the FFS packaging sheet.

According to Basel, Clyrell RC 514L is an alternative to commonly used FFS resins such as PC and APET. The comparative test from the FFS machinery factory shows that the PP copolymer can be directly processed with the equipment and mold processing APET without equipment modification, and the PP copolymer injection stroke is 97% of APET, and the residual shrinkage is only 1% The haze and gloss indexes were 10.1% and 127.3%, respectively, while the APET haze and gloss indexes were 8.9% and 129.3%, respectively. In addition, PP copolymer food containers are 33% lighter than APET.
