Faced with such a large number of different types of packaging cartons, so far, there is no unified and definitive standard for the classification and naming of packaging cartons at home and abroad. This gives box-type design, box-type search and box-type storage. Bring great difficulties.
Xinbei packaging carton CAD system includes carton box type library, box type design, imposition, input and output and other parts. This article describes the box library part of the system, including its characteristics, classification, naming and search, and proposes a method of classification and naming. Of course, this is only a preliminary exploration and needs to be further improved in production and practice.
The establishment process of a box library is generally divided into the following five steps:
(1) Collection box type.
(2) Analyze the mutual restriction between the dimensions of the box and the accessories.
(3) Use the draw and edit tools in the Hinway CAD software to draw box plots.
(4) proofing correction.
(5) Named storage.
In the above five steps, the analysis of the constraint relationship between the dimensions of the box body and each accessory is a very important and complicated task. It is related to whether the manufactured box type is reasonable and practical. For example, for cigarette packs, the country has relevant parameters as a standard and can be used directly; but for other items that have no standard reference, it can only be analyzed based on the practical experience of making cassettes in the factory. In this system, the expressions of these dimensional constraints can be displayed through dialog boxes for easy modification.
A box file contains two parts: the header and the body.
The file header includes the version number of the file, the file size of the open file, the size of the box type, the maker and the production date (which can be blank) and other information.
The content of the file body roughly has 4 parts:
(1) Auxiliary reference line for aiding the design and editing of graphics.
(2) Box-type graphics and their attribute values, including line segments, arcs, etc.
(3) Label lines and their attribute values.
(4) The parameters, parameters, relational expressions and parameter values ​​involved in the box type.
Second, the characteristics of the box library
The carton box library consists of an overall box library and an accessory library. It has the following features:
1. Convenience
The overall box-type and box-type accessories stored in the box library can be used as reference samples for the designer to call. When the designer needs a certain box type, he can find it from the overall box type library, and then call it out. Only by modifying the data of length, width, height, and paper thickness, the desired box type can be obtained. For box types that are not available in the integer library, you can refer to the box types and accessories in the box library and use the box-type accessories in the parts library to spell out the box types you need.
2. Accuracy
The accessories and box type in the box type library are obtained by studying the structure of various different carton boxes and performing parameterized design according to the general box type regularity and certain methods. The parameters in the accessories are more flexible than the independent parameters, and the rest of the parameters have a restrictive relationship with each other. Some are restricted by the box size and paper thickness, and some are restricted by other accessories. These restrictions are based on the carton during molding. The necessary conditions are determined to ensure that each part has a reasonable structure and close cooperation. The overall box type parameters are determined by the corresponding formula and will vary with the length, width, height, paper thickness, and correction parameters of the inside (or outside) of the carton.

3. Openness
The accessories and box types in the box library can be called and modified arbitrarily, and the prepared accessories and box types can also be stored in the box library. If you are not satisfied with some parts of the accessories in the accessories library, you can edit and modify and reset the parameter values. For the overall box type in the overall box type library, the accessories in the box type can be edited and deleted, new accessories can be reloaded, and the constraints between the parameters can be modified. After the new box type is modified, it can be saved into the corresponding box type library according to the given file format.
Third, the box type and naming
Packaging cartons are categorized according to different uses, carton shapes, processing methods, etc. Xinbei system is classified according to the structure of the carton, it will be divided into folding carton, paste carton, combo carton 3 categories. Each type of carton is subdivided according to its structural form. For example, the folding carton is further divided into a tubular box, a disc box, a tube disc box, and a non-tube non-disc carton. Tube cartridges are now used as an example to illustrate the classification and naming of cartridges.
1. Overall box type classification and naming
The naming of the overall box type is related to the classification of the carton, mainly based on the forming structure of the carton, and is named according to certain rules. The tubular folding carton according to the structural definition is: from a sheet of paper folding, in the carton forming process, the edge seam joints through the adhesive, the lid and the bottom of the box need to be assembled by folding the box plate or cymbal sheet (or sticky () Fitted or sealed cartons.
The box type structure can be divided into a main structure and a partial structure. The main structure refers to the structural form that constitutes the main body of the folding carton. The partial structure refers to the structural form of a part of a folding carton such as a box cover, a box bottom, a box surface, a box corner, and the like, and includes a lock, a self-locking, a partition, a window, a display board, and the like.
The naming of the entire carton is intended to be represented by eight digits, as shown in Figure 1. The sequence of the different digits or letters is arranged from the whole to the local, from the big class to the small class, and then from the box body, the box cover to the box bottom structure. The first of the named codes represents the carton forming method, the second represents the carton structure, the third represents the design method adopted by the main body of the carton, and the fourth and fifth positions represent the lids used by the carton. In the structural form, the sixth and seventh positions represent the box bottom structure adopted by the carton, and the eighth position is the box type number.
When the Jimbe system categorizes the carton, the main structure of the carton box type is mainly considered. Various functional structures of the carton such as partitions, combinations, multi-piece collections, handles, windowing, display boards, easy-open structures, inverted-outlet structures, etc. are all part of the carton's local structure.
When the Jimbe system classifies the cartons, it does not list the cartons with various functional structures separately, but rather guides them into tubular cartons or trays according to their main structure. For the so-called special-shaped boxes, because it is a relatively vague concept in itself, it does not have a separate category, but according to their forming structure, it is divided into tubular carton, tray carton and other categories.
In this way, the classification is based on a single standard (ie, the main structure of the carton), which does not cause confusion in terms of classification and naming due to the inconsistency of the standard. 2. Box accessories
The general paper carton generally consists of a box body, a box cover, a box bottom, a dust-proof blemish film, an adhesive bun, and the like. Each part is a large class and is named according to the complexity of different categories.
Take the dust-proof chip (shown with d) as an example (the more commonly used chip is shown in Figure 4), named d_0sls_1. The left end of the dust mowing pad is retracted (indicated by s) with a paper thickness, the right end is indented by a paper thickness, and the cover plate is inserted to form a lock (indicated by 1) structure. The variation is mainly the different form of the left end of the sepal.

The right side of the dust-proof cymbal sheet can be divided into four categories according to whether it is indented or locked. They are respectively marked 00 (no indented lock), 0s (only indented), 10 (only lock), 1s (have indented, Lock). The same is true of the classification of the left side of the dust-proof chip. The last name of the naming is the number to indicate the different forms in a category, such as the different forms of indentation or locking, and the smooth connection with chamfers at the chamfers. Since the various parts of the bottom of the box are collocated, a combined parts library has been established for direct recall. In the box-type library, the extension of the overall box-type and box-type accessory file is ofg, and different types of box-type and accessories have different first names.
