OKIData announced the acquisition of Seiko Instruments Inc., a large-format printer business of SeikoIInfotech Inc. (SIIT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The acquisition includes large format printers, technology and development resources for the use of signage and LED plotters, as well as related sales channels. 
After the acquisition, all SIIT shares held by SII will be converted to OKIData. In addition, OKIData's European subsidiary and US subsidiary will also take over their large format printer business in Europe and the United States from SII. Asset transfers will be completed in October this year, and all of SIIT's large format print products and services will not be affected.
OKIData said that through this acquisition, its product line and product development space will be further expanded.
