The color management profile is an indispensable information. However, due to the use of incorrect Profile information, many printing companies have produced erroneous digital proofing, which has resulted in errors in the CTP process and resulted in loss of service.

Digital proofing to simulate the actual color expression of printing equipment allows us to save time and material costs. Through software control, it can simulate the color effect of various output devices such as plain printing, gravure printing, embossing, silk screen printing, flexo printing and so on. The four parameters affecting the color space conversion are: the basic linearity of the proofing equipment. It must be set at the beginning, reflecting the color expression characteristics of the nozzle and the ink. The paper properties used for proofing can be read by using the IT8 color chart. The reference CTF or CTP output burst curve - there is also control experience; the problem is that we want the fourth parameter printing equipment characteristics, credibility is always unsure.

With these printing characteristic curves, the dot enlargement curve is relatively smooth, and the rate of enlargement of intermediate dots is higher. Its gray balance curve, cyan is higher than magenta, magenta is slightly higher than yellow ink, in line with the physical characteristics of the ink: the purity of yellow ink is higher than that of magenta, and the purity of ocean is higher than that of cyan. As a color space conversion parameter between Lab and CMYK, the color value is basically maintained.

Profile is a description of the characteristics of the printing environment. It does not involve the environment. How many environments do it? Try to analyze how many variables affect the printing environment. There are different models, different inks, different papers, and different plates in the printing shop. How many combinations can they change? How many kinds of profiles do you have? In addition, the print profile generated by ink balance, printing color sequence, printing pressure, and printing speed is even more varied. If there is a 20% expansion of the 50% M version, and the C version increases the profile generated in 10% of the environment, how can you prevent a 15% increase in the M version and a 15% increase in the normal printing environment in the C version? ? If you make 100 profiles for 100 environments, how can you make it operational?

Traditional proofing uses standard Japanese 157g double powder, standard DIC ink, and standard CMYK ink concentration to complete standard proofing. The printed ink, paper, pressure and color sequence were different and managed to follow my proofing. Whether digital proofing can avoid complications and simplify, establish a standard specification, including the printing profile of common paper and ink, as the printing color standard followed by the industry. This will make it easier for the printing process to be smoother and more conducive to overseas orders. The general printing profile has gone, pursues the special printing Profile again, or simply rectifies the special printing environment, unifies to the standard printing environment.

It is very positive to establish the appearance and quality standards of prints. However, it is better to put quality into the production process first. Do a good job of digital proofing that hinders the development of CTP, and do a good job of printing Profile standards that affect digital proofing.
