Zhengzhou University of Technology developed a hard foaming technique using wood flour. They crushed sawdust, shavings, sawdust, etc., sifted, dried, and dried to a certain size of wood flour, using special catalysts, under atmospheric pressure and 90-125°C conditions, Alcohol synthesis of wood powder polyether, in the synergistic effect of cross-linking agent, catalyst, stabilizer, foaming agent, reacted with polyisocyanate to produce reactive wood flour polyurethane foam.
This process is complete, the process is simple, and it has been implemented on a 100-ton/year plant. The product has been tested by the China National Building Materials Bureau's hard insulation material product quality monitoring center and Henan Province's building material industry product quality supervision and inspection center. The basic performance has reached the national standard. The cost is 30% lower than that of conventional polyether polyurethane raw materials. It is understood that this wood flour polyurethane material also has certain biodegradability. By changing the raw material composition ratio and other conditions, different hardness, different density, different strength can be obtained. Heat-resistant, flame-retardant, heat-insulating, insulating, chemical-resistant, and biodegradable foam materials have broad prospects for application in the fields of synthetic wood, elastomer materials, coatings, adhesives and other polyurethane materials.
